Freedom from The Law

Freedom from The Law

1. 1 John 3:9 (NKJV)

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

The freedom in Christ is not merely a release from the bondage of sin but also from the burdens of legalism. Paul's words in Galatians highlight that believers are called to live in the freedom that Christ offers, rather than reverting to a mindset of strict adherence to the law. This freedom allows believers to serve God out of love and gratitude, rather than fear of punishment or legalistic regulations.

2. Romans 7:6 (NKJV)

But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

This verse lets us know that believers have been delivered from the law. We are no longer bound by its strict requirements but are called to serve God in the newness of the Spirit. This new way of serving is characterized by the heart's inclination toward God's will and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 2:16 (NKJV)

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Paul's teachings in Galatians emphasize the point that justification comes not through adherence to the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. This is a pivotal aspect of freedom in Christ, as believers no longer need to strive to earn their salvation through their own efforts.
